A pilot landing a single-engine Bonanza K-35 airplane at Hayward Executive Airport Wednesday night forgot to extend his landing gear and escaped a crash landing without injury.

The unidentified pilot was beginning to land his plane when he reportedly heard a loud crash in the plane's underbelly, according to a police report. The extent of damage to the plane is unknown at this time.

This is the second crash at the Hayward Airport in two months due to land gear failure. In March a pilot landing at the airport was unable to properly extend his plane's landing gear and completed a crash landing on the runway.
